So, what's next?

No, but really, figuratively or literally... what's next for you?

Gratitude Everyday

With Thanksgiving around the corner (Yes, yes it is. It's hiding behind the fun size Snicker's bars) we all have gratitude on the brain. But, much like charity shouldn't be reserved for December, gratitude doesn't need to be contained to November.

Take a second and ponder this:
What if you woke up tomorrow with just the things you remembered to be grateful for today?

Who are you?

They say we spend our teen-age-hood trying to figure out who we are, but that implies that after we hit some magic age (maybe on the first day of college?) we are supposed to have figured it all out.

Here's the truth, who we are is constantly changing. Life moves and takes us with it, and when we wake up in the morning we might not be quite the same person we were when we went to bed.

So, who are you today? Is it who you thought you'd be?

Live Life to the Fullest.

Today's prompt comes to us from the amazing Katja of Skimbaco Lifestyle and it's perfectly fitting since it's the tagline to her blog.

Live Life to the Fullest. What does it mean to you?

What Do You Dream?

We live our lives day in and day out and all of us harbor some dream or other. Whether we believe that dream will ever be realized is neither here nor there.

What's your dream? Is it for you? For your kids? Can it come true?Do you even really want it to?

Where Did It All Begin?

Everything has a beginning. A shiny moment when ideas and opportunities click, and something is started. Then, sometimes, a little ways down the road, we forget the why and the how of the thing that started it all. The thing gets a little tarnished and we lose the energy that made it fun at the start.

As you sit here, mojo nowhere in sight, tell us, where did it all begin? How did the shiny idea start?

Where Do You Go When It's Time For Escape?

"When I was small and easily wounded, books were my carapace. If I were recalled to my hurts in the middle of a book, they somehow mattered less. My corporeal life was slight; the dazzling one in my head was what really mattered." ~ Lauren Groff The Monsters of Templeton
Books have always been my means of escape. When life gets to be too much to swallow I either slip on my sneakers and go for a run or I grab a book and fly away. For hours I dive into another person's life and live vicariously through them. When I emerge I feel a bit more able to deal with my own life.

How do you escape your reality? What gives you reprieve from your life when it gets to be too much?

When did you last ask for help?

A long, long time ago I did an internship at a neo-natal clinic in Paris. I was young, incredibly inexperienced, and determined to seen like the opposite of both of those things. I can't remember what happened, but one day ended with me in tears being severely rebuked by the charge nurse. Her closing words to me that day were "Here, when you're too proud to ask for help, people and babies can die."

Asking for help is hard. It makes you feel weak and incompetent. Truth is, since it is so hard, asking for help is the bravest thing you can ever do.

Despite all that I know I find it hard to ask. How about you:
When was the last time you asked for help?
When was the last time you should have asked and didn't?

What Could You Start Today?

The only certainty in life is that no matter how much you try, you cannot know how tomorrow will be. You might have all the facts in hand and be able to make an educated guess, but in the end, only time will reveal how things will play out.

We're all guilty of waiting until everything is perfect before starting something new - diet, exercise regimen, new job, new project - sometimes setting the bar extra high so we'll always have an excuse to keep stalling.

Patti Digh asked the TypeA Parent conference attendees what they would start if they knew for a fact that the situation would never be perfect.

Now I'm asking you:
What are you putting off that you could start today?

What Do You Love To Do?

At the last blog conference I attended the delightful Patti Digh challenged us to change things up when we're out and about. "Instead of asking people what they do, ask them what they love to do."

So, I'm asking you.

"What do you love to do?"

Who Believes in You?

When we're at our most challenged, our most frustrated, our most overwhelmed, knowing that someone believes in us is the most priceless thing imaginable.

Who believes in you today? Who believed in you in the past?
